This Wednesday afternoon, while sailing downwind in around 20 knots of wind, approximately 230 nautical miles off Portugal’s Cape Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, Elodie Bonafous and Yann Eliès encountered a technical issue aboard their IMOCA Association Petits Princes – Quéguiner. The problem does not affect the boat's structural integrity but is impacting their performance. The two sailors are working to find a repair solution, while continuing their southward journey for the time being.

La Coruña Stopover for Class40
The Class40 leaders are into La Coruña. Because of violent low-pressure system approaching the Atlantic this has become necessary. The first boats crossed the finish line this morning in a very tight group and now race control is ensuring the safety of the crews still at sea before the front passes. A first favorable weather window for a restart seems to be emerging for the weekend.

Corentin Douguet and Axel Tréhin
At 0805hrs UTC this Wednesday morning, Corentin Douguet and Axel Tréhin (SNSM Faites un don!) crossed the Class40 finish line first in La Coruña, NW Spain, for what has become the first leg of The TRANSAT CAFÉ L’OR Le Havre Normandie double handed race to Martinique.
Reunion Day
For Class40, today is about reunion with land and with their fellow competitors in La Coruña with Corentin Douguet and Axel Tréhin (SNSM Faites un don!) having just crossed the line first. It is a kinfd of reunion at sea for the leaders in the Ocean Fifty class, with Edenred V having overtaken Wewise overnight. There has been a reunion with land of a different sort, the islands, for the ULTIMs which are sailing past Madeira and Porto Santo this morning and will round the Canary Islands archipelago later today. And finally a reunion with downwind sailing for the IMOCAs, which are riding the Portuguese depression, with the leader changing hands with each gybe. In a weather scenario that remains as tricky as ever, the skippers on the radio calls this morning keep us in the picture
