A veritable open-air museum, a city of creativity and architecture inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List, a major economic, port and industrial hub, LeHavre is also one of the few French cities totally open to the sea. With its coastline in the heart of the city, it is a nautical destination par excellence-rich with its vast stretch of water in the Bay of the Seine, its beach and its marina-and the scene of major sailing and board sports events, such as the TransatJacques Vabre Normandie Le Havre, whose 30th anniversary we are celebrating this year.

The Normandy Region has been supporting the Transat Jacques Vabre Normandie Le Havre since the 2017 edition. In 2019, it has become an organizing member of this double-handed transatlantic race, alongside the JDE group and the city of Le Havre.  

The Transat Jacques Vabre Normandie Le Havre is helping to make Normandy a national and international center for yachting. It increases the dynamism of the sailing basins, develops nautical activities, sources of employment for the region. And it's helping to nurture sporting talent!
