THEIR RACE IN BRIEF

For Pierre Quiroga and Gaston Morvan (wewise) it  was a relentless battle betweenn Le Havre to Diamond Rock, just before the finish line. After the nightmare of three capsizes at the start (Lazare x Hellio, Koesio, and Inter Investi), the duo taped a piece of paper under their coachroof: "Don't capsize!" They mixed caution with brilliance to the point that the duo took the lead off the coast of Brittany and executed flawless tactics across the Bay of Biscay. Approaching the Canary Islands, and after four days in the lead, Wewise was overtaken by Edenred 5, which stole the top spot. Still in contention, the pair lost ground rounding Cape Verde but made up again on the passage westwards across the Atlantic. A few days from the finish in Martinique, when Edenred suffered damage, Pierre Quiroga and Gaston Morvan seized the opportunity to slip through the pack and battle it out with Viabilis in the final miles. Briefly in the lead, they were overtaken near the Martinique coast and secured a bittersweet second place.
