THEIR RACE IN BRIEF

With an impressive record of 11 podium finishes in Class40 and a debut win in the 2023 Rolex Fastnet Race in the Ocean Fifty class on his first season in multihulls, the Saint-Malo-based skipper Luke Berry and his co-skipper Antoine Joubert delivered a stellar performance in the TRANSAT CAFÉ L’OR.

On the 2023 edition, Southampton trained naval architect Berry was dismasted off the coast of La Coruña and so Le Rire Médecin had to abandon the race. The two sailors were determined to redeem themselves this time. With a boat made more reliable since its relaunch in April, the duo got the balance right between pushing and being conservativet. Never faltering, always in perfect rhythm, watching for the slightest opportunity, they demonstrated their ability to compete with the best crews in the fleet, even getting very close to Wewise in the bay of Fort-de-France. For Luke Berry and Antoine Joubert, this third place feels like a sweet revenge after their 2023 dosappointment.
